Tiger on cap is based on the belief that it is a powerful animal and a symbol of protection from bad things.
There is a legend about the prestige of Luang Por Pern, which has been passed down that during his forest wandering (tudong) in the great forest, he once faced a tiger.
However, at that time, he spread loving-kindness and shared his merit and virtues with all beings until the tiger was subdued. From that point onwards, the tiger became an animal associated with Luang Phor Pern's prestige, continuing to this day.
